Terms & SMS Terms

Effective October 6, 2026. PorchLight is a community service operated by PetParent to help people find lost pets, report sightings, and connect with pets needing homes.

Using PorchLight

Provide accurate information, respect other people’s privacy, and use reports and messages for their intended pet-related purpose. Do not post abusive, fraudulent, or unlawful content. Community reports and matches may be incomplete or inaccurate; PorchLight cannot guarantee a pet’s recovery or the availability of a listed pet. Contact local emergency services for an emergency.

Optional SMS alerts

By confirming “Turn SMS on”, you consent to automated lost-pet alerts and sighting updates from PorchLight by PetParent at the mobile number you provide. Message frequency varies with activity in your alert area. Message and data rates may apply. SMS consent is optional and is not a condition of purchase or use of PorchLight. Sign in and manage your notification preferences in your profile. Phone verification and an alert area are required for nearby SMS alerts.

Sign-in and verification codes

If you choose phone sign-in or request phone verification, we text the code you request. Requesting a code does not enroll you in lost-pet alerts.

Stopping texts and getting help

Reply STOP to opt out of SMS alerts. Reply HELP for help, or email porchlight@petparentusa.com. You can also open your profile and turn SMS notifications off to stop alerts and sighting updates for your account. Delivery depends on your carrier and network; texts may be delayed or unavailable.

Your information

Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Service providers process messages on our behalf. See our Privacy Policy for how we use and protect information.
